The ‘Farmor’ (‘Grandmother’) armchair, designed by renowned Swedish designer Carl Malmsten in 1956, is one of the most widely admired models he created. Malmsten aimed to create a chair that exudes warmth and comfort through its soft, rounded form. The design reflects a sense of femininity and homeliness, qualities often associated with the word “grandmother,” which is why this model has remained a favorite for decades. The ‘Farmor’ armchair is distinguished by its elegant, classic Nordic style, featuring a solid pine frame, a high back with a distinctive small “crown,” and a small matching cushion.
