Description
Elegant Swedish Modern two-seater sofa, made by a Swedish cabinetmaker in the 1940s. Made from oak, details in iron, carved elements, newly reupholstered in light fabric.
Crafted by a skilled Swedish cabinetmaker in the 1940s, this sofa is made entirely from oak and is reminiscent of the work of important Swedish designer Axel Einar Hjorth (1888–1959), whose works are coveted collector’s pieces, renowned for their modern look, displaying strong proportions, simplicity in construction, and a brilliant union between tradition and modernism. Thoughtfully detailed, it features carved decoration, rivets running across the backrest and sides, complemented by small iron handles on each side, adding both function and character.
